Attendance, Certifications and Recordings
This policy outlines the expectations for attending live online sessions, certificate eligibility, and how lesson recordings are managed. By enrolling in programs at Institutum Antiquitatis, you agree to these terms and conditions.
1. INSTITUTIONAL STATUS & ACCREDITATION
Formal educational accreditation applies exclusively to degree-granting institutions. As a specialized classical enrichment program, Institutum Antiquitatis is not a degree-granting entity, and conventional institutional accreditation does not apply to our curriculum. However, we maintain the highest educational standards:
Faculty Credentials: Our instructors hold recognized academic degrees and credentials in their respective fields.
External Validation: Students have the opportunity to participate in prestigious, externally validated programs, such as the National Latin Exam, to benchmark their academic progress.
2. ATTENDANCE POLICY & CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION
Active participation is vital to our interactive teaching methods. Attendance and certificate requirements vary by program type:
A. LANGUAGE LESSONS
With Certificate: To receive a Certificate of Completion, you must attend a minimum of 75% of the allocated course hours and pass a mandatory evaluation at the end of the module. The specific format of this evaluation (e.g., written test or oral interview) will be specified by your teacher at the beginning of the course.
Without Certificate: If you do not require a certificate, the 75% attendance rule does not apply. However, regular attendance is strongly encouraged. Our lessons are highly interactive, and you cannot fully benefit from our methodology without live participation.
Absence Notification: If you must miss a class, please notify your teacher in advance via email. Because students frequently work in collaborative groups, advanced notice allows teachers to adjust group exercises and lesson plans based on the final participant count.
B. SEMINARS
With Certificate: The same 75% minimum attendance requirement applies to qualify for a certificate of completion. However, no final test or evaluation is required.
Asynchronous Attendance: Seminars may be attended asynchronously by watching the recordings.
Seat Management: If you plan to attend a seminar asynchronously, please inform us in advance via email. This allows us to open your live seat to another participating student.
3. LESSON RECORDINGS & PLATFORM SHARING
To support your learning, live sessions may be recorded by the instructor.
Platform Distribution: Lesson recordings will be securely hosted and shared on a digital platform of our choice.
Consent: By enrolling in our courses or seminars, you explicitly consent to the recording of lessons and the sharing of these recordings on our designated platform.
Opt-Out: If you prefer not to have your video or audio recorded, you may mute your microphone and turn off your webcam during live sessions.
4. PROPER USE OF DIDACTIC MATERIALS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All materials provided during this course are the proprietary intellectual property of Institutum Antiquitatis.
Unauthorized Recording: Students are strictly prohibited from making personal audio recordings, video recordings, or screen captures of live lessons.
Improper Use: You agree not to misuse, download, alter, or copy any shared course content.
Strict Prohibition on Distribution: You may not share, distribute, or publish lesson recordings, worksheets, readings, or any other didactic materials with third parties or on any public platforms or social media. Unauthorized distribution will result in immediate removal from the program without a refund.
5. MINORS AND PARENTAL CONSENT
Institutum Antiquitatis enrolls students aged 14 and older. Students who are minors under the laws of their country of residence are subject to the following terms.
1. Parental Agreement Required. A parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms on behalf of any minor student at enrollment. Minor students may not create accounts or agree to these Terms independently.
2. Consent for Session Recording. Live sessions may be recorded for enrolled students' asynchronous review. Recording consent is separate from enrollment and is not a condition of participation. Parents or guardians who grant recording consent authorize Institutum Antiquitatis to record the minor student's voice, video, name, and chat participation for internal academic review and student playback only.
3. Parental Rights. Parents and guardians may at any time request access to their child's data, request its deletion, or withdraw recording consent for future sessions. A student whose recording consent has been withdrawn may continue to participate with camera and microphone disabled. Submit requests to info@institutumantiquitatis.org.
4. Data Retention. Recordings are retained for 6 months and then permanently deleted. Data is never sold or shared with third parties except as required to deliver the service.
6. SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS
If you have a specific requirement, learning need, or personal circumstance that makes it difficult or impossible to comply with the terms above, please feel free to reach out to us. We are happy to discuss your situation and look for a dedicated, personalized solution to support your learning journey.
