At Institutum Antiquitatis, we are dedicated to reviving classical languages studies through our innovative active philology method. Your generous contributions directly support this vision by funding merit and need-based scholarships, organizing events that champion the active philology method, and funding the research and publication of our proprietary educational textbooks and materials. Every gift helps us keep the ancient languages alive and spoken. Through your generosity, we can actively champion this communicative approach, expand its reach to a broader global audience, and foster a more profound, enduring love for classical antiquity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Institutum Antiquitatis, Inc. is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation that is in the process of applying for recognition of tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This application is subject to the discretion of the Internal Revenue Service. If and when the IRS grants recognition, contributions made on or after the date of the organization's incorporation will qualify as tax-deductible charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law. Until that determination is issued, tax deductibility cannot be guaranteed. You will receive a written acknowledgment of your donation containing this explanation. Donors who wish to claim a deduction may need to consult their tax advisor or file an amended return once a determination is received.

  • Your donations support our educational mission. At least one seat in every course is reserved for scholarship recipients selected on the basis of merit and need. As we expand our programming to include travel study retreats, the scholarship program will grow to cover those as well and future publications of educational materials we are working on.

  • Please contact info@institutumantiquitatis.org to be considered for a volunteer position to help further our mission.

  • We welcome in-kind donations that support our educational programs. Please contact info@institutumantiquitatis.org to discuss what you have in mind. Note that the donor is responsible for determining the fair market value of in-kind contributions for tax purposes.

  • We welcome conversations with donors interested in establishing named or endowed scholarships. Because endowed gifts carry specific legal and fiduciary obligations, we work with each donor individually to structure a gift agreement that reflects both the donor's intentions and the organization's capacity to steward the fund responsibly. Please contact info@institutumantiquitatis.org to discuss.
