For Latin, this stage corresponds to the advanced study of Roma Aeterna and our Specialized Author Seminars on Ovid, Livy, and Cicero; in Ancient Greek, it is designed for those who have completed the Athenaze sequence and are ready to interrogate unadapted Attic prose and Epic poetry, including the works of Homer, Plato, and Thucydides. Participants will analyze advanced rhetoric, intertextuality, and the historical development of the languages. The goal is to achieve absolute autonomy in the target language, enabling students to conduct high-level academic dialectic and sophisticated textual analysis entirely in Latin or Ancient Greek.
